Tentative goals for this blog

If this blog is going to be useful at all, I need to set down some general goals for it. Otherwise it will just sit here like a rock, and do no one any good. After asking around on a couple of other biblioblogs what biblioblogs were all about, one of the answers I got was this:

I would summarize the main use of biblioblogs as: (1) An instantaneous spreading of ideas associate with all things biblical; (2) A community on the web of biblical scholars and students in study who can share their ideas and current areas of research; (3) A form of news media for biblical scholars that is entirely voluntary and unpaid; (4) A great way for “nerds” of Christianity to tell others about their own impressions and knowledge.

These characteristics were provided by New Testament Studies blog (the only blog in my blog roll right now) and I think they adequately define the purposes of this blog. I’ll do my best to uphold them.
